Fire Extinguisher Inspections & Maintenance-

We perform annual and monthly fire extinguisher inspections in any commercial or residential space.Fire extinguisher inspections are crucial because they ensure that the extinguisher is in proper working condition and ready to be used in an emergency, preventing potential failure due to damage, wear and tear, or low pressure, ultimately safeguarding lives and property by identifying issues before they become critical during a fire situation.
Regular inspections allow for the identification of potential issues like dents, leaks, corrosion, or malfunctioning parts before they escalate and compromise the extinguisher’s effectiveness. Most jurisdictions mandate periodic inspections of fire extinguishers to meet fire safety codes and ensure proper maintenance.Inspections can include checking the mounting, accessibility, and visible condition of the extinguisher to ensure it is ready for use. Upon your inspection, each portable fire extinguisher will be tagged. Tags include spaces to record inspection and maintenance dates, which helps ensure the extinguisher is regularly maintained. The tag will have a hologram, your extinguishers model and serial number. The information on the tag should not be removed or marked unless authorized. Only a licensed company will be able to provide you with a valid tag.

Fire Extinguisher Service

An internal examination of a fire extinguisher involves discharging the suppressant, refilling the cylinder with dry chemical and carbon dioxide or nitrogen, replacing the valve stem and O-rings,testing the extinguisher for leaks and applying a six-year compliance sticker and annual inspection tag.Fire extinguishers can lose pressure over time, rendering them ineffective. This must be done by a licensed company.

Hydrostatic testing

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires that all low-pressure cylinders, like fire extinguishers, be submitted for hydrostatic testing every twelve years.

Recharging

Fire extinguishers need to be recharged after each use , even if they aren’t empty – to ensure that there will be enough pressure and suppressant liquid to properly extinguish another fire. They should also be recharged if they become damaged, or periodically throughout their lifespan. Your fire extinguishers should only be recharged by a certified fire protection company. Once a year, a certified fire equipment dealer, in accordance with the service manual identified on the product label, should perform maintenance on the fire extinguisher.

Violation Removal

It’s possible to avoid fines for the violations your business has received. Your first step is by aligning with a reliable fire safety company who is licensed to conduct all of the necessary inspections your fire extinguishers require. Our licensed technicians will perform the proper inspections to ensure your fire extinguishers meet all national and local fire codes, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and regulations and are fully compliant. After our work is completed, we provide you with a detailed report showing you exactly which PFE’s have been inspected, which extinguishers are due for service, and when that service must be completed.

Emergency Light Inspection

An emergency light inspection, also known as an E-light inspection, is a thorough test of a building’s emergency exit lights and lighting system. This ensures the lights are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
